“So…. you’re going on ‘hiatus’. What does that mean?”
Well, I’m pleased to announce that I am not having a nervous breakdown. Nor do I need to care for a sick family member (touch wood). I’m not ill myself; I’m not taking an extended vacation or getting remarried (preferably to Emmanuel Macron).
Quite simply, there are things in my RL (real life) that need a great deal of my attention at present:
My best friend of 13 years is having her first baby.
My other best friend is going through some significant life changes and I want to be as supportive as I can.
My current City2Surf training needs a lot more time and effort. My current time is abysmal, and I want to do so much better than I did last year.
I’ve signed up to do some volunteer work in Sydney that I imagine will be quite confronting.
University starts again for me in July and I will be doing a full-time load of 4 subjects.
I’m in the early stages of writing a book. (NOT A Tale of An Escort or anything like that).
My full-time RL (real life) job is about to become a lot more hectic.
So, my ‘hiatus’ is a time for me to work out if I can successfully juggle all of things without any of them suffering. I’m a little bit of a perfectionist, you see. I wouldn’t want to appear distracted during a booking. I wouldn’t want my university work to suffer, or for my best friends to feel unsupported.
“So…. how long is this ‘hiatus’ going to last?”
In all honesty, I’m not sure.
At this stage, I can confirm that it will be at least from the 13th of June until the 31st of July*.
In fact, it may extend until the City2Surf is over, which would be August the 12th.
I will definitely still be around though. I’ll still be posting on Twitter, Instagram and writing the occasional blog article. Please don’t be afraid to stay in touch via Twitter DM (although it may take me longer to respond).
I am really going to miss you all. Every single one of you has added something to my life. I am going to be so excited to see you again.
*I am still definitely open to any rare and amazing opportunities to travel overseas as part of a Fly-Me-To-You booking. And I may consider the occasional platonic lunch date also. So, don’t be afraid to make me an offer…
